ITD has more than 17 years experience in the installation of public telephone network outside plant (ducts, manholes, wiring, copper and fibre optic cables) as an installation contractor and more recently as an outside plant provider and concessionaire in the 1,500,000 telephone lines project in the provincial areas of Thailand.

The major projects completed are:

Installation of 1,500,000 provincial telephone lines for TT&T Public Company Limited.
Outside Plant and Transmission Networks for 800,000 lines telephone expansion in Bangkok and provinces for TOT Corporation Public Company Limited
Transmission Network System between Khon Kaen and Chiang Mai for CAT Telecom Public Company Limited
Supply and installation of steel towers, Base Transceiver Stations and antenna for the Nationwide GSM 1800 MHz Mobile Telephone System for TA-Orange
Transmission Network Expansion Project, the nationwide fibre optic backbone throughout Thailand for TOT Corporation Public Company Limited

The telecommunication needs of cross-country oil and gas pipelines are now being met by installing fibre optic cables in the same trench as the product pipe. ITD is experienced in the necessary close coordination of construction and installation activities of the divergent technologies for handling pipes and fibre optic cables, particularly to ensure the fibre optic cable is not damaged.

Many of ITD's telecommunications projects have involved specialist joint venture partners to provide the latest international technology and technology transfer, resulting in world class networks. This experience now encompasses advanced computer surveys, network strategic planning, data analysis, signal traffic modelling, CAD Network design, project management, procurement, installation and testing.

ITD has installed 11,000 km of fibre optic cable ranging from 24 fibres to 216 fibres, equivalent to 786,880 fibre-km.

ITD's focus includes the new technologies for mobile telephones, IP-telephony and information technology systems.

Nation Wide GSM 1800 WCS

Survey, design and installation of transmission towers for GSM 1800 mobile telephone network throughout Thailand.

The Provincial 1.5 Million Lines Project

Installation of 1,500,000 provincial telephone lines for the Thai Telephone & Telecommunication Company. The work includes of 510 duct-kilometres and 2,159,822 pairs - kilometres of copper cables.

Experience

• Outside Plant 800,000 Lines Project (February 1997 - February 1999)

Turnkey design, supply and construction of a telephone expansion project for 800,000 telephone lines in provincial areas of Thailand for the Telephone Organization of Thailand, including 560 duct-kilometres of duct routes and laying and jointing of 725,000 pair-kilometres of copper cable in Zones 1 (North) and 3 (East), and the laying and jointing of 3,000 km optical fibre in Zone 4 (South).

• The Provincial 1.5 Million Line Project (March 1993 - February 1997)

Design and construction of 1,500,000 lines for provincial telephones for the Thai Telephone & Telecommunication Company. Work included 510 duct-kilometres and 2,159,822 pairs-kilometres of copper cables.

• The Local Network Expansion of 5th Economic Social Development Project (January 1987 - June 1992)

Design and construction of a telephone conduit system for a local cable network for Telephone Organization of Thailand, including 785 duct-kilometres of duct routes in part of metropolitan and provincial telephone area 8 (South).
