Complete steel structures and fabricated structural steel elements required for civil engineering construction works are manufactured at ITD's structural steel workshops, one at Samut Prakarn on the Chao Praya River 30 km to the south of Bangkok, and the other at Wihan Daeng, 110 km north of Bangkok. Together the fabrication capacity is 30,000 tonnes per annum. Typical structural steel projects completed by ITD include:
The structural steel workshops provide a complete service from fabrication drawings through material procurement to completed fabrication, non-destructive testing, protective coating and erection on site. The workshops are staffed with more than 70 engineers and 700 skilled support staff. Modern precision Computer Numerical Control machines ensure high quality accurate production for prefabricated structures.
